To
prevent and reduce drug abuse and violence among youth,
D.A.R.E.-certified law enforcement officers, educators,
parents
and the community collaborate
to provide an educational program to 6th, 8th graders and
junior high students in the schools. The program offers a
variety of interactive activities designed to encourage
students to learn positive strategies for solving problems
and resisting drugs and
violence.
The
Carmel Police Department strongly endorses the
D.A.R.E. program. Three officers are assigned to
serve as instructors in the Carmel Clay School
System.
