BACKGROUND:

During the past 20 years, Carmel has been adding to its local path and trail system with the goal of making connections from neighborhood to neighborhood across the city. With the completion of this project, coupled with the recently completed U.S. 31 upgrade, the last link of connectivity has been made along 106th Street from the city’s western border with Zionsville, to its eastern border at White River. Carmel has more than 180 miles of multi-use paths and trails along streets, corridors and greenways and is recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly City.
