Fourth Annual Carmel PorchFest on tap for Sunday

A lively crowd anticipated for 41 performances on
20 porches in the Carmel Arts & Design District

·         Carmel PorchFest presented by Huntington Bank is Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 1 – 5:30 p.m. Carmel PorchFest is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.

·         Forty-one musical acts will perform. Their styles range from acoustic to electric, their sizes range from solo to ensemble, and they represent a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, pop, jazz, blues and country. Acts will perform 45-minute sets.

·         Notable this year are two musical acts that are new to the Carmel PorchFest scene:

Indy Ukers – an all ukulele band

DysFUNKtion Brass – self-described as playing “funk with a heaping of brass”

·         Performances will rotate between 20 houses in the undiscovered streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District, whose owners volunteered their porches to serve as performance venues.

·         Attendees typically either camp out in lawn chairs in front of chosen porches, or travel from porch to porch to experience the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers to enhance their experience. Secured bike parking will be available, and lawn chairs will be available for those who arrive via bicycle. Local streets will be closed to traffic.

·         Food and beverage options are available in the venue, and local restaurants are nearby on Main Street, In-venue food options for purchase include options from Greek’s Pizza and Market District. Adult beverages for purchase (with a valid ID) include offerings from Quaff On Brewing Co. and Peace Water Winery.  Attendees are also welcome to carry in their own food and beverage if they so prefer.
