Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony at City Hall
The City of Carmel’s Days of Remembrance Ceremony 2011 to commemorate the Holocaust. The program will include a keynote address by Isaiah Kuperstein, Former Director of Education, US Holocaust Memorial Museum and Carmel resident. Mayor Jim Brainard will read a Civic Proclamation and offer remarks. Rabbi Benjamin Sendrow of Congregation Shaarey Tefilla will act as Master of Ceremonies. The program will also include presentations by 8th grade students at Beth-El Zedeck Sunday School as well as a musical performance by soprano Melissa Pesia Cohen.

Friday, May 6th at noon.
The ceremony will last approximately an hour and a half and will be followed by a light lunch.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The Carmel commemoration is part of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), an international holiday for remembering the victims of the Holocaust. It
reminds us, as Americans, of what can happen to civilized people when bigotry, hatred and indifference reign.
