MLK Day of Service is a special initiative of the Carmel United Methodist Church, which is following the example of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by giving back to the community. The Church will cover the cost of anyone wanting to skate during the 3:30 p.m. skating session at the Ice at Center Green. Skate rentals will also be free for this session that will go until 5 p.m. There is a maximum of 250 skaters allowed on the ice at one time. Visitors are encouraged to show up 30 minutes prior to their desired skate time.

The ice rink, typically closed on Mondays, will be open Monday, January 20, from noon - 7 p.m. All visitors are invited to bring a canned food item to benefit the Carmel United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry. Items will be collected on the east side of the ice rink by the Church and the Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council.
