Alert Citizens lead to the arrest of three burglary suspects and Police seek suspects in daytime catalytic converter thefts
On May 14, 2011 at approximately 3:00 PM the Carmel Police Department responded to a burglary in progress call in the area of Uxbridge Lane.
On May 2, 2011 at approximately 6:45 am the Carmel Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Millgate Ct.

City of Carmel Road Construciton Update Please note: Most repairs have been completed at Haverstick Road, north of 106th Street. By the end of today, Friday, March 25, 2011, the roadway will be open to traffic and any remaining road construction work will be performed under traffic. This includes culvert headwalls, sidewalk replacement and pavement and lawn restoration. Earlier this year, the culvert and road collapsed during recent heavy rain storms. The road has been closed for repairs since that event.

Mayor Jim Brainard joined Youth Council's founder, Jeff Hou, Carmel High School senior, to announce that the group is seeking members for this newly formed group. Youth members will address issues of concern in the community and participate in volunteer opportunities as well.

With advance and prudent planning, Carmel emerges with money in the bank in 2011 in spite of a recession that has affected cities across the country. The General Fund balance at the end of 2010 was more than $7 million and the balance of all City funds is $50.9 million. Strong management of the City’s money and spending has allowed Carmel’s taxes to remain low, while providing excellent city services to residents.
