CCPL 

The Carmel Clay Public Library is a vital part of the Carmel Clay community, used frequently by many residents. The library is ready to serve the changing needs of its patrons through its state-of-the-art building. Library statistics show consistent increases in number of cardholders and library items borrowed. The building is completely wired with a vast area of technological resources, more computers and enhanced Internet access. 

Residents of Carmel and Clay Township have access to timely, accurate, and useful information, as well as a comprehensive range of library materials and services. The library is a major provider of children’s services, such as preschool and school age story times, educational programs, and the ever-popular summer reading program.


Free Internet access is provided at the library, as is access to books in libraries throughout the state, the country and the world via Interlibrary Loan services.

All Carmel and Clay Township residents and/or property owners are eligible for a Carmel Clay Public Library card at no charge. Persons outside the Carmel Clay boundaries may obtain a Public Library Access Card (PLAC), for a small annual fee. (All PLAC funds go directly to the Indiana State Library.)

The library offers a vast array of services such as:
  • the latest books, magazines and newspapers
  • computers and CD-ROMs
  • DVDs, videos, Children's cassettes, audio books and compact discs
  • resources for students, hobbyists and business men and women
  • summer reading programs
  • story time
  • author visits
