The Carmel Arts Council was formed in 1993. In addition to providing a gallery for local
artists to display their artwork, the Arts Council supports the fine arts in the City of
Carmel and Clay Township by increasing awareness and encouraging interest in the
performing and visual and literary arts. The Arts Council also awards a $1500 visual arts
scholarship and a $1500 performing arts scholarship each year to three
graduating Carmel High School seniors who plan to study art at a university
or college. Applications are available at the Carmel High School. In September 1999, the Gallery was designated as the World's
Smallest Children's Art Gallery by Guinness World Records.

Carmel Community Players
Location: Studio 15 - 15 First Ave., NE, Carmel, IN 46032
Phone: 317-815-9387
Carmel Community Players provides live dramatic musical presentations that expand and
develop creative opportunities for the entire community. Founded in 1993, CCP responded to
a growing need in this community for affordable, local quality entertainment that would
meet the needs of cultural enrichment for the entire family. The majority of market
analysis studies undertaken by the traditional Indianapolis theaters revealed that as much
as 75% of their audiences came from northern Marion and Hamilton counties. CCP focuses on
providing a community-based venue for both experienced and inexperienced participants in
theater, both on-stage and behind-the-scenes. Adults and children alike extol the virtues
of being on stage. Such experiences allow you to overcome fears, develop talents, work in
a team environment, experience excellent literature and improve self-confidence.

Carmel Symphony Orchestra
Phone:317-844-9717
The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) was founded in 1976 as a community
orchestra. The 70-member orchestra is comprised of professional and
volunteer musicians who share the joy of making music.
The CSO is a "family-friendly" orchestra, presenting six annual
subscription concerts, each programmed to provide an eclectic mix of
classics and pops repertoire. The season includes Family Fun! – a concert
allowing young children to sit among orchestra musicians to watch music
being made up close and a performance by the winner of the CSO Young Artist
Competition. This concert is followed by a musical petting zoo allowing kids
to try various instruments. In addition, the CSO performs at
CarmelFest - a
free outdoor concert for several thousand area residents on the 4th
of July - and performs at the Penrod Arts Fair.
For information or tickets, please call the CSO office at 317.844.9717.
