Deputy Chief Adam Harrington
Chief Adam Harrington serves as the Deputy Chief of Operations and was hired in 2000. He previously served at the Fishers Fire Department and was a Volunteer at Wayne Twp Fire, Marion County in the 90’s. Chief Harrington also has previous experience with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office both as a dispatcher and a Lieutenant in the Reserve Division. He currently serves on numerous committees and is a member of the Department’s Honor Guard, Indiana Task Force 1 and Indiana District 5’s Incident Management Team.
Chief Harrington has the responsibility of managing 155 sworn personnel.
The department divisions that Chief Harrington directs consist of the following:
- Fire Suppression Division
- Emergency Medical Services
- Safety and Training Division
- Quartermaster Division
- Planning Division
The Fire Suppression Division is responsible for providing direct services to the citizens of Carmel.
Services rendered include:
- Fire Suppression
- Search and Rescue
- Emergency Medical Services (Provided by Paramedics and EMTs)
- Hazardous Materials
- Extrication from vehicles and machinery
- Water Rescue
- Our Fire Suppression Division is divided into three shifts of 48 sworn personnel which operate on a 24-hour cycle.
Each shift is led by a Battalion Chief and Executive Officer
The Fire Suppression Division Personnel operate out of six stations which are strategically located throughout the City of Carmel and Clay Township.
