Fine Schedule
To admit the charge(s) against you, please sign the back of your
copy of the ticket(s) and mail to the Court at least 5 days before your scheduled
Court appearance date with your payment. If you choose to plead not guilty, you
must appear in Court on the date that appears on the bottom of the ticket. A trial
date will then be assigned for a later day. Continuances must be arranged at least
5 days before your scheduled date to appear. Proper attire is required for court
appearances. T-shirts, tank tops, and similar attire, as well as caps or hats worn
in the courtroom, are inappropriate.
NOTE: There are certain offenses for which you MUST APPEAR IN
COURT: (1) Operating a Watercraft in a Negligent Manner, (2) Possession of Undersize
Large Mouth Bass, (3) Fishing by illegal methods, (4) Any offense for which you are
told to personally appear by the arresting officer or court personnel. Anyone who
does not pay before his/her scheduled court date must also appear on that date.
PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE MUST APPEAR, AND MUST APPEAR WITH A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN.
PAYMENT: Cashier’s Check, or Money Order, payable to Carmel City Court.
NO PERSONAL OR COMPANY CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS CERTIFIED. Mail to Carmel City Court,
1 Civic Square, Carmel, Indiana 46032, or pay in person at the court from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Monday through Friday. Cash payments may be made if paying in person. To pay with credit
or debit card, visit www.governmentpayment.com or call 1-888-604-7888, and enter Pay Location Code #5988.
Admitting the charge(s) against you will result in the entry of judgment
against you. All judgments will be certified to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
FAILURE TO APPEAR OR FAILURE TO PAY WILL RESULT IN LICENSE SUSPENSION UNTIL THE CASE IS CLEARED,
AND/OR A WARRANT BEING ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST.

The schedule below shows the judgment (fine and costs) for each infraction.
Once a citation is issued, $110.00 court costs are automatically assessed (unless you are
found not guilty or your case is dismissed). This amount is to be
paid whether you appear in Court or not and is set by the State Legislature. The schedule
below shows the amount payable if you are not required to attend court (see back for
requirements). Fines may vary for those who appear in court and for those who miss
any scheduled court date. Fines may vary depending on facts presented in court, during
a trial, or any hearing.
