John began his first term on Carmel City Council on January 1, 2008. He is not new to public service or to Carmel. John and his wife Dr. Christine Accetturo, have been residents in Carmel since 1980. Both of his children attended Carmel Schools.
Mr. Accetturo is a career public servant. He had over 31 years of service in leadership positions in accounting, finance, and construction with the U. S. Army, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. John also served our country with over 31 years of service in the United States Army Reserve before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in October, 2001. He earned the Certified Government Financial Manager designation from the Association of Government Accountants in 1994.
John is the Managing Partner of CMA Consultants, LLC a financial, organizational, and educational consulting firm located in Carmel.
Mr. Accetturo has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University and a Bachelors Degree in Business and Economics from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. He is also a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
John welcomes input from the citizens of Carmel, because he is serious about his responsibility to represent them on the Council.
