E-Mail: jgriffiths@carmel.in.govJoe began his first term as a Carmel City Councilman in January of 2004. He is serving District Four, which covers the northeastern section of Carmel. Before running for council he served as the president of his homeowners association.
He is currently president of Griff Tech & Sons, LLC, Construction Services a company specializing in commercial owner representation and construction management. Joe is degreed in Horticulture Technology/Landscape Architecture after attending both Vincennes and Purdue Universities. He spent almost 20 years working for the State of Indiana in various capacities within economic development that included 17 years with the Energy Policy Division as their federal/state financial manager. He retired as the Controller of the Department of Commerce during the remainder of his tenure. While working in the Energy Policy Division, he served on the task force to rewrite the Model Energy Code of the Indiana Building Codes and received a Governor’s commendation for his efforts in writing the Model Energy Code.
After retiring from state government, Joe began working for a Mechanical Contractor, serving as a Plumbing Estimator, Project Manager, and Business Manager. He subsequently worked with a general contractor as Senior Commercial Estimator and Safety Director. Joe also worked as a project negotiator for a general contractor based in Nashville, Tennessee, which built hotels across the country. He formed Griff Tech & Sons, LLC in 2002 in order to spend more time with his family and play a greater role in the local economic development.
He is married to Pam and has two sons.
