Rick began his first four-year term as Carmel City Councilman on January 1, 2004 serving District One, in the northwest section of Carmel. Rick and his family moved to Carmel in 1992 from south Florida. He and his wife Susan have three daughters, Sara, Brenna and Rachel. Rick had been Senior Vice-President with a large real estate management firm but came to Indiana to participate in his father-in-laws’ business. Today he is president of Miller Sales Corporation, which is the distributor for Maytag commercial laundry products in Indiana.

Rick attended St John Vianney Minor Seminary from 1973-74, studying theology, and the University of Florida from 1975-78 majoring in political science.

Involvement with community affairs began for Rick almost as soon as he moved to Carmel. He has been on the Board of Directors and President of the neighborhood associations where he has lived, a member of the Board and President of the Carmel Swim Club and was a member of the Carmel Clay Plan Commission for four years. Rick is a Republican Precinct chair in Hamilton County and he has served on the Carmel Redevelopment Commission since June 2003.

Rick believes the privilege of serving on the city council will provide an opportunity to participate, to an even greater degree, in helping guide the growth and development of our great city.
