False Crime Report

Carmel, IN - Today at approximately 7:15am the Carmel Police Department responded to the area of Carey Grove Park on a reported assault. A 16 year old female of Carmel reported that an unknown male subject forced his way into her car and assaulted her. The police set up a perimeter and conducted a search of the area. The juvenile complainant later told police that she had made up the story and the information she had given was not true. The Carmel Police Department will be discussing this incident with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if false crime reporting charges are going to be filed against the juvenile.
