News Release
Date:
March 4th, 2008 Burglary Carmel, Indiana - On March 2nd 2008 at approximately 2:45 pm the Carmel Police Department responded to a burglary in the area of Wembly Circle. The homeowner stated that while she and her husband were outside working in the yard an unknown person entered her home and stole several items. The homeowners went outside at 1:15 pm to work in their backyard. When they went inside an hour and fifteen minutes later they noticed jewelry on the bedroom floor. At this time, they discovered several items missing from their home. It appears the suspect(s) entered through an open side garage door and exited through the front door. Witnesses stated that they observed a white SUV with tinted windows leave the area during the same timeframe of the burglary. No further description is available at this time. The Carmel Police Department would like to remind Carmel residents to keep their doors and windows locked. As warmer weather sets in the Police Department sees an increase in these types of “Daytime Burglaries”. People are outside enjoying the warmer temperatures and are unaware of what is occurring inside their homes. Taking the extra precaution of closing garage doors and making sure other access to your home is secure may stop you from becoming a victim.
