Citizen’s Academy Graduation 

Tonight twelve individuals will be graduating from the fourteenth session of the Carmel Police Department’s Citizen Academy.  The graduation will take place at 7:00 pm at Ritz Charles in Carmel. 

Carmel’s Citizen Academy is a free program that runs twice a year and you must be at least eighteen years old to attend.  It is an eleven week course and classes are held once a week.  It is our goal to build on the relationships we have established in the community.

The Citizen’s Academy consists of classroom and hands on training that will allow citizens the chance to interact and become more familiar with the tasks that are assigned to Carmel Police Officers. The Citizen’s Academy also gives community members the opportunity to ask questions about law enforcement and related activities.  Classes range from Emergency Vehicle Operation, Firearms, Criminal Investigations, and SWAT demonstrations.
