Immediate
Safety Link Program
Carmel, IN - The Carmel Police
Department, Carmel Fire Department, and White’s Ace Hardware
are teaming up to increase the effectiveness of Carmel’s
Safety Link Program. White’s Ace Hardware recently made a
donation that will improve the ability for public safety to
respond and make contact more quickly with the Safety Link
participants.
Carmel’s Safety Link was started in 1991 and is staffed
entirely by volunteers. The Program has been very successful
checking on the well-being of those living alone; and
enabling seniors to feel more secure and providing programs
to educate the senior community about crimes they are most
likely to experience. Volunteers are screened and trained by
the Carmel Police Department and they telephone individuals
that participate in the program at their homes seven days a
week. If a participant is unable to be reached by telephone
they are checked on by a police officer, relative, or
neighbor. This program ensures that there is little or no
delay if assistance is needed.
The City of Carmel has always been a very safe place to live
and work. This safe environment comes from strong community
involvement in Carmel’s many safety related programs. This
donation by White’s Ace Hardware has once again demonstrated
the commitment to safety that our city is known for.

Program please call (317) 571-2500.
