Carmel Fire Department Profile

The City of Carmel Fire Department is under the direction of Fire Chief Matthew Hoffman, who has been in active fire service for nearly 30 years. In addition, Chief Hoffman is assisted by Chief of Administration David Haboush.

Approximately one hundred and seventy fire department personnel operate six different fire stations. Covering approximately 51 square mile area, the Carmel Fire Department is responsible for providing emergency fire, medical, tactical rescue and hazardous materials service to the City of Carmel and Clay Township.

The fire stations are strategically placed in the city and township to provide a rapid response to any citizen at any location in the fastest and most efficient manner as possible.
