Paving and Street Improvements in Arts & Design District

Hamilton County has received a Small Business Association Declaration
Hamilton County has received a Small Business Association Declaration to receive Disaster Loan Program money, May 10th, 2013. The Disaster Loan Program is for businesses, homeowners, and renters that suffered losses to their property in the recent flooding.

  Groundbreaking for City Center’s Newest Addition “The Mezz”
CARMEL, IN – The City of Carmel and Anderson Birkla Investment Partners LLC broke ground on a $6 million construction project that will include 44 luxury apartments and Anderson Birkla’s corporate headquarters. This boutique development will be called “The Mezz,” which plays off the mezzanine level seating in The Palladium. These buildings will be located on both the east and west end of the James Building (The Tarkington Theater building) in City Center.

Carmel Police - Vehicle into Pond in Carmel
On April 26, 2013 at approximately 1:00 pm the Carmel Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle in a pond in the area of 126th Street and Scottish Bend. Witnesses observed a 2005 Land Rover drive into a retention pond. One witness went into the water and was able to help the two occupants to safety.

   Electronics Recycling, Prescription Disposal and Document Shredding Event
CARMEL, IN – An electronics recycling, prescription disposal and shredding event is being sponsored by a team of organizations including Carmel Utilities, Carmel Police Department, Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana, Carmel Area Roots & Shoots, Technology Recyclers, Ramco Gershenson and Wish-TV. This event will be held on Saturday April 20th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Merchant’s Square (NW corner of 116th and Keystone Parkway) near Petco in the north parking lot of the mall.

Carmel Arts & Design District-The Olive Mill Opens This Weekend in the Arts & Design District
Carmel, IN – The Carmel Arts & Design District welcomes The Olive Mill, a store specializing in small batch and artisan extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars from around the world. The Olive Mill will host its grand opening this weekend, Friday, April 12 – Sunday, April 14, and will stay open late to sample treats using their products during the IU Health North Hospital Gallery Walk on Saturday, April 13 from 5-10 p.m. The Olive Mill is located on the southwest corner of Main Street and Range Line Road at 10 S. Range Line Road.

Construction Work Planned for Palladium in April
Additional construction work is being done at the Palladium in April. Some additional work is being done to the roof structure including retrofits to the trusses which entail welding some additional stiffeners and small plates, less than three-feet in length, in place.

700 New Jobs in Carmel
CARMEL, IN – Two announcements made in Carmel on Monday, March 4th will bring more than 700 jobs to Carmel in the next five years. NextGear Capital held a ribbon cutting at their new headquarters in Carmel and announced they will expand its workforce, adding about 225 jobs by 2015. Baldwin & Lyons, Inc. announced it is moving its headquarters, which already employs 350 workers, to Carmel and expanding its operations adding 133 employees by 2018.
