We offer you a picture perfect backdrop to find one-of-a-kind gifts. The Arts & Design District and City Center invite you to visit our family of more than sixty shops and restaurants and experience the festivities of the holiday season in Carmel.

Don’t miss the perfect kickoff to the season at the City of Carmel’s Holiday on the Square event on Saturday, November 21 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Carmel Civic Square, featuring the holiday lighting ceremony, a visit from Santa, live reindeer and other animals to pet, holiday entertainment and children's activities. This event is free and open to the public.

Enjoy your holiday shopping! Ride the festive Carmel Holiday Trolley as you shop unique, local boutiques and galleries in our Arts & Design District, Indiana Design Center and City Center.
Riders will receive free gifts and that warm glow that comes from knowing you have supported our local merchants.

The trolley route begins at the PNC Bank parking lot in the Carmel Arts & Design District (located at the northeast corner of Main St. & Range Line Rd.) and continues the route with stops every 30 minutes at the following locations:

  • Monon & Main Street (on the north side of street in front of Bub’s Burgers)
  • Indiana Design Center (in the surface parking lot on the south side of the building)
  • Carmel City Center (by Polleo Systems, 719 Hanover Place)

Activities at Carmel City Center during the Holiday Season:


Carmel City Center will be hosting its fourth annual Winter Wonderland Event on Small Business Saturday, November 28.

Student members of the Carmel High School (CHS) Art Club will be painting many of the storefront windows in Carmel City Center in holiday themes to create a “Winter Window Wonderland” for patrons to enjoy throughout the month of December.

Celebrate Small Business Saturday and shop at Carmel City Center. Carmel City Center invites you dine at one of the six unique restaurants, then shop and enjoy the entertainment of holiday D.J. music on the interior plaza throughout the day.

Carmel City Center retailers will also have store promotions throughout the day. As a development focused on independently-owned specialty retail and restaurant offerings, Carmel City Center is the perfect place to spend “Small Business Saturday,” a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide.

On Sunday, Dec. 6 from Noon to 1 p.m., 99.5 WZPL will give away 50 pairs of tickets to Indy’s biggest holiday concert, Jingle Jam, and one grand prize giveaway for a pair of meet and greets to visitors of Bath Junkie at Carmel City Center. Bath Junkie is located at 741 Hanover Place. Jingle Jam 2015 will be held at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 9 featuring the artists Walk the Moon, Pentatonix, Tori Kelly, Rachel Platten and more!

Festive Fridays
Join us in the Carmel Arts & Design District every Friday from November 20 – December 18 for the Christmas Stocking Hunt, Holiday Storytime at the Museum of Miniature Houses and the Trail of Selfie Stops - fabulous seasonal photos for the taking along the streets of the district. Enjoy evening shopping hours at many merchants and dine in style at more than a dozen relaxing restaurants.

Throughout the month of December, visit participating galleries in the Arts & Design District to find “100 Artworks Under $100,” featuring one-of-a-kind masterpieces perfect for holiday gift-giving priced at $100 or under.
Gallery owners run this special to make sure patrons know that art can be accessible and affordable to all art lovers.

Send a letter to Santa this holiday season at Santa’s special mailbox sponsored by ArtSplash Gallery at 111 W. Main Street, Suite 140. Each child who posts a letter to Santa will receive a personalized, hand-written response from Santa!

Join us for the 7th Annual Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt. Begin the hunt at Auntie Em’s Frozen Custard & Cupcakes (111. W Main St., Suite 130) or Highgarden Real Estate (110 W. Main St., Suite 130) and follow the clues that will lead you to discover hand-decorated gingerbread houses in merchants’ holiday windows. Prizes can be picked up from Auntie Em's or Highgarden.
