Kevin "Woody" Rider
Kevin “Woody” Rider has served as an At Large member of the Carmel City Council since 2008. He has also serves on the Carmel Plan Commission.
Rider and his wife, Richelle, own two restaurants in Carmel – Woody’s Library Restaurant, which opened in 1998 on Main Street; and Divvy, which opened in 2011 at Carmel City Center. Prior to that, he opened his own pizza place, Parcel Pizza, at the age of 21, expanding it to five locations before moving onto bigger things.
Rider was born in 1961 in Indianapolis and attended Indianapolis Public Schools; graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Indiana University in Bloomington to study business.
In addition to running his restaurants, Rider serves as a trustee, volunteers as a shuttle bus driver and usher at Northview Church; and is a board member at the Cherish Center in Noblesville.
Rider has been a member of the Carmel City Council since 2008, winning an At-Large seat on his first attempt. For the past eight years, he has also served as a Council appointee on the Carmel Plan Commission, helping to guide much of the development that has helped Carmel earn national recognition for being one of the best places to live, work and raise a family.
