Carmel Fire Department Dedicates new Safety House/Trailer

  • Date: 07/03/2011 2:00 PM
During the CarmelFest Celebration, festival-goers will have the opportunity to participate in the dedication ceremony for the new Safety House/Trailer at the Carmel Fire Department. The ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday-July 3rd at the Fire Department Headquarters (2 Civic Square; Carmel, IN 46032).

The Safety House/Trailer will be dedicated and christened in true “firefighting tradition” by wetting down the vehicle with a firefighter hose line. According to Deputy Fire Marshal Keith Freer, “The new Safety House/Trailer, donated by St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, will serve as an important educational tool. The Safety House will primarily be used at elementary schools and safety festivals to teach fire safety in the Carmel/Clay Township area.”

Once the Safety House/Trailer has been officially dedicated and “christened”, the unit will be on display in the southeast corner of the CarmelFest’s “Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent KidZone”. Firefighters will offer safety presentations in the Safety House on Sunday-July 3rd (at 4 pm, 6 pm & 8 pm and on Monday-July 4th (at noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm)

Come join the Carmel Fire Department and learn more about fire safety on July 3rd & 4th. For more information, visit the Carmel Fire Department web site at www.CarmelFD.com or contact Deputy Fire Marshal Keith Freer
