GRAND RE-OPENING


Carmel, IN - Carmel City Center is excited to announce the Grand Re-Opening celebration for Kits & Kaboodle Classic Toys on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 723 Hanover Place.

Guests are encouraged to attend the celebration beginning at 10 a.m. with a flash dance performance of “Mary Poppins Medley” by the Brownsburg Ballroom Swing Kids followed by the official ribbon cutting with Mary Poppins. The flash dance will begin on the sidewalk south of InCycle and The Yoga Studio and will travel north along Hanover Place to the Kits & Kaboodle shop. A photo opportunity with Mary Poppins will be available from 10 a.m. -11:15 a.m. in the shop and the first 100 shoppers will receive a Poppins Sugar Cookie. Safety is a top priority at Kits & Kaboodle Classic Toys; therefore, all adults will be required to wear a mask while inside the shop and children are encouraged to wear a mask as well.

Kits & Kaboodle Classic Toys relocated to Carmel City Center in the interior plaza at 723 Hanover Place. Celebrating their 16th year of business, Kits & Kaboodle is a family-owned toy store geared toward developmentally appropriate toys and books for infants to children 12 years old. With a knowledgeable staff to help pick out the best toys, Kits & Kaboodle offers a wide range of German-made toys and stuffed animals by Steiff, HABA, Bruder and LEGO along with Fat Brain Toys, Ravensburger puzzles, Brio trains, Corolle dolls and more. The new Carmel City Center shop features a Mary Poppins theme that will eventually include a Bert’s Book Nook and an interactive Poppins Play Area.

“We are very excited to be re-opening our shop at Carmel City Center and welcome new and old customers to the space,” said owner, Teneen Dobbs. “Hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Kits & Kaboodle to the Carmel City Center community,” said Melissa Averitt, senior vice president at Pedcor Companies. “Kits & Kaboodle offers some of the best toys and gifts for children in the city and we know the customers that visit Carmel City Center will be happy to be able to stop in and visit their shop.”

Carmel City Center is located at the southwest corner of City Center Drive and Range Line Road. Surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive), in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road as well as City Center Drive) and in the Veterans Way garage.

The apartment units in the Residences of Carmel City Center opened in summer 2010. The penthouse condominiums are all committed. Law firm Drewry Simmons Vornehm occupies 16,500 square feet of office space in Carmel City Center. Future phases of Carmel City Center include additional residential and commercial space.

Carmel City Center is the location for The Center for the Performing Arts, which includes a 1,600 seat world-class concert hall named “The Palladium,” a 500-seat theater named “The Tarkington” and a 200-seat black box theater. Carmel City Center’s boutique hotel, Hotel Carmichael, is slated to open in summer 2020 and will open as part of the Autograph Hotel Collection, Marriott’s independent lifestyle brand. The Center Green in Carmel City Center is also the home of the Carmel Farmers Market. This pedestrian-based master plan development is located at the southwest corner of Range Line Road and City Center Drive (126th Street). The Monon Greenway runs directly through the project. Carmel City Center was developed as a public/private partnership between the City of Carmel, Pedcor City Center Development Company and numerous developers.

About The Nash

The Nash, a three-story, $10 million mixed-use building, is just south of Phase I of City Center on the west side of Range Line Road. It contains 30 one, two and three bedroom apartments on the second and third floors and 8,000 square feet of commercial space at street level.

About The United Fidelity Bank Buildings

The United Fidelity Bank buildings, formerly known as the Baldwin & Chambers buildings, a four-story, mixed-use building, is just south of Phase I of Carmel City Center and north of The Nash on the west side of Range Line Road. It contains 26 studio, one and two bedroom apartments on the third and fourth floors and 31,000 square feet of commercial space on street and plaza level.

Addendum Gallery, The Cake Bake Shop, Lantz Collective and Oliver’s Twist are currently open. United Fidelity Bank will be relocating to their new location within this building this summer. Pedcor is in various stages of lease negotiations with restaurant, retail and service concepts.
