Explore the West Loop July 11-19; Post Pics for Prizes

Carmel, IN - Bike Carmel: Slow Roll Ride, Conquer the CAB presented by IU Health North Hospital is looking a little different than in past years. In 2020, we were all set to help you Conquer the Carmel Access Bikeway (CAB) routes in Carmel by riding them together. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have changed the ride to make it a self-guided event that can be done with family members and friends while observing safe physical distancing.

There are five CAB routes of varying distances. So far, we have completed the City Center Loop, the shortest route at just 6.8 miles. In June, we conquered the White River Loop at 7.2 miles. This month, we will step up the distance a bit and conquer the West Loop at 9.7 miles. There is a small portion of the West Loop at the corner of Shelborne Road and Eagle Creek Avenue in Westfield that does not have signage. At this intersection, remember to take a left turn (southwest).

Beginning Saturday, July 11, through Sunday, July 19, you can explore the West Loop and enter to win a prize by sharing a photo you’ve taken along the route. Share your photo in the Facebook event, Slow Roll Ride: Conquer the CAB #3 - West Loop. One rider selected from the pictures posted in the Facebook event will be awarded a $50 gift card to a local Carmel business.
Click here to view each of the five CAB routes along with printable maps and queue sheets.

The City of Carmel, Bike Carmel and IU Health North Hospital are looking forward to another exciting year of bicycling in the community.
More information can be found on the Bike Carmel Facebook or by emailing bikecarmel@carmel.in.gov.
Remember to keep safe physical distancing in mind, wear a mask when appropriate and keep the rubber side down.
