Rain on Main is back for August’s Meet Me on Main!
Local artists transform 65-gallon, urn style rain barrels into one of a kind pieces of art.

Carmel, IN – This weekend’s Meet Me on Main festivities include Rain on Main, live music, the "Art in the Garden" program, a live demonstration by Jan McCune (at Indiana Artisan), crafts for the kids and more!

Meet Me on Main begins at 5 p.m. in the District and includes the following special events:
Rain on Main
An annual event held to increase awareness of water quality and conservation, local artists transform 65-gallon, urn style rain barrels into one of a kind pieces of art and then auction them off to raise funds for water education signage in Carmel Clay Parks.

Rain on Main is organized by Carmel Utilities, Department of Storm Water Management and Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Treasure Hunt! Three $100 gift cards will be hidden in the District on Saturday, August 8. Hints will be posted on the Carmel Arts & Design District’s Facebook after 6 p.m. that evening. Follow along for your chance to win!
The Art Lab invites you to design your own wooden frame. Come by the breezeway next to Sub Zero to pick up your craft supplies. To-go baggies will be provided and will include a wooden frame, tape and acrylic paint. This craft is free and no sign up is required. The make and take “to-go” art project will be available from 5 - 8:30 p.m. or until supplies last.
Free musical entertainment throughout the District includes Rosie Inman on Monterey Coastal Cuisine's Patio, Sammi Lorena next to Anthony’s Chophouse and Dianna Davis in the courtyard next to Indiana Artisan.
New Art Work Alert! While visiting the District, don’t forget to check out the new four-piece mosaic by Nancy Keating which was created last summer as a community art project and hung in the breezeway in Sophia Square, thanks to the help from Carmel’s Street Department.

Nick Veasey Flash Sale! Evan Lurie Gallery is pleased to offer never-before-seen sales on Nick Veasey’s work, approved by the artist himself. The Gallery is also featuring boutique pop up shop, Karma Candles. (30 W Main St., #1939)
Carmel Art on Main Gallery
Art on Main’s feature show is “Let’s Get Fresh” featuring fresh and new works by Randall Scott Harden and Kim Greene; and Jill Dunn. Randall and Kim will have oil and acrylic works including landscapes, flowers, vineyards, rural scenes and more. Jill is a jewelry artisan and will have new rings, earrings, cuff bracelets, necklaces and more available. (111 W. Main St., #140)
Come see the latest kiln formed jewelry at CCA. The gallery is staying open late Saturday, August 8 until 8 p.m. to feature work by Joy Tilson Cobb (acrylic poured painter) and Kelly Jenkins (jewelry artist). Joy Bardwell Cobb has been painting for five years and uses a variety of techniques in her contemporary poured paintings. She has extraordinary shadings and movement of her colors, many of which are reminiscent of the beach. She works on canvas, glass and paper, all ready to hang. Kelly Jenkins has been making kiln formed jewelry for 17 years and has been a CCA member for three years. She also teaches a fused glass jewelry class at IAC on Mondays. Kelly uses several glass techniques to form unique markings and shadings in her contemporary glass. Many pieces are completed with sterling that she has textured, sawed and formed into bails. (111 W. Known for his Hoosier landscapes, painter Michael Janosky will demonstrate his creative process at Indiana Artisan Gifts & Gallery during Meet Me on Main. Don’t be surprised if you feel the breeze or the wind in his pieces; while Michael’s work is 2D, it often has a fascinating sense of motion. (22 N. Range Line Road)
The Carmel Arts Council Children’s Art Gallery
"Art in the Garden" will be open from 3 - 7 p.m. The "Art in the Garden" program is designed to demonstrate art firsthand to visitors to the District. The artist of the day will be Gavin Goode, a well-known and talented artist who lives in Carmel. Gavin excels at many mediums but for this event he will be painting with oil acrylics on steel. (40 W. Eyes on Main
Featuring Artist Peter Coombs from Adelaide, Australia. “The collection featured in our shop is designed and handmade in his new atelier, Coombs + CO on Rundle Street, by Peter Coombs personally. His world-renowned eyewear has recently been worn by Daniel Radcliffe in the film "Escape Room from Pretoria" and he has designed and made eyewear for several celebrities including Elton John. No production for the masses and something truly very special and unique,” said Kim Odle-Peters with Eyes on Main.
