Mayor Brainard to Commemorate the
end of World War II
The City of Carmel will commemorate The Greatest Generation’s Greatest Day, the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II.
Friday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza located at 800 3rd Ave SW, across from The Center for the Performing Arts.
Mayor Brainard will commemorate the day with a wreath laying at the foot of the Veterans Memorial Statue. We encourage the public to spread out their visits throughout the day. Limited carnations will be available to place at the statue. Due to COVID-19, anyone that attends will be asked to physically distance and wear a face covering.
It is important to celebrate how the successful conclusion of World War II preserved our Republic, the freedoms guaranteed under our Constitution and our culture from those who were intent on destroying western civilization.
