The CFD Finance/Administration Division is directed by Deputy Chief Gugel. Chief Gugel oversees the financial needs of the department, including the recruiting of personnel, firefighter promotion systems, and reimbursement submissions related to emergency deployments and special exercises. The Administration Division is also responsible for providing innovative analytical, planning and fiscal services to maintain and enhance the Departments ability to protect life and property.
Chief Gugel directs the following department’s divisions, each having its own Division Chief:
- Fire Prevention and Public Education: Provides inspection services/plan review for commercial businesses within the community. The Fire Marshal also provides information and training regarding Fire Prevention and Safety, State and Local burning regulations, and the Indiana Fire Code.
- Logistics and Maintenance Division: Maintains and repairs department vehicles including all fire apparatus. The Logistics Section Chief also oversees the quartermaster program which provides protective clothing and equipment to the firefighters.
The Chief of Administration also monitors all working emergency scenes through coordination with the on scene Incident Commander. When fires escalate to a second alarm or greater, or there are special circumstances the Operations Chief, Administrative Chief or Chief of the Department can take command of the incident.
