Indiana Handgun License Application

Step 1:

The Indiana Firearms Permit application is only available online.

In order to complete the online application, you must provide the State a valid email address. Please make sure to record your application number, you will need this to check the status of your application.

Step 2:

After you submit your application online, you will need to schedule an appointment with IdentoGO to take fingerprints. IdentoGO will provide fingerprinting to applicants using Indiana’s Electronic Fingerprinting Network. The State requires ALL fingerprints to be submitted electronically. 

  • You may contact IdentoGO (formally L-1 solutions) to schedule your appointment online at or by phone at 877-472-6917.

Step 3:

You must contact us to your complete your paperwork before coming in to pay your local fee.

  • If you have any questions call phone 317-571-2532, if prompted please leave a message and include the spelling of your last name and your application number, you will receive an email notifying you when your paperwork has been completed. 
  • If you have any questions send correspondence to and include your first and last name and your application number.

Please bring with you:

  • Payment for your local fee, we accept Credit Cards (a $1.75 fee applies) or Money order/Bank Cashier’s Check. We do not accept cash
  • Your driver’s license or photo ID this must show your current Carmel address. (Used to verify jurisdiction)
  • Your receipt from your fingerprint appointment
