The Ethics Board was established through Ordinance No. D-1846-07 on June 18, 2007, and amended with Ordinance No. D-2353-17 on February 20, 2017 to help facilitate the Code of Ethics in Carmel city government.

This is a recommending Board to the Common Council regarding changes to the Ethics Code, providing a program of continuing education for City employees, officers and elected officials and reviewing formal complaints received regarding Ethics Code violations.
