The Carmel Fire Pension Board was established in accordance with Indiana Code § 36-8-7-3 and is composed of seven trustees.
The trustees are: two Ex-Officio Members (the municipal executive – Mayor and the fire chief), five members elected by members of the Fire Department consisting of one retired member of the fire department, and four active members of the fire department.
The Board manages fire fighters' pension fund, known as the 1937 fund and the 1977 Police Officers' and Firefighters’ Retirement Fund.
