The Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Public Safety was established in August 2024 through Executive Order SF-2024-20 to continue and improve Public Safety and work with the community to keep the City safe and secure.

Initiatives, Goals, Past Accomplishments

  • Explore and advise on new and evolving safety and security issues.

  • Enhance community engagement that promote participation among public safety agencies and the community to foster trust.

  • Discuss emergency response protocols and infrastructure to ensure timely and efficient responses to incidents in Carmel and surrounding areas.

  • Support programs focused on crime prevention, including neighborhood watch initiatives, youth mentorship programs, and awareness campaigns that educate the public on safety practices and resources available to them.
