City of Carmel Ethics Board

The Ethics Board was formed in October of 2007 to help facilitate the Code of Ethics in Carmel City government.

The Board is to make recommendations to Council regarding changes to the Ethics Code, provide a program of continuing education for City employees, officers and elected officials, and review any formal complaints received regarding violations of the Ethics Code.

The Board consists of five voting members; two appointed by the Mayor and two appointed by the City Council. The fifth member is appointed by the Township Trustee. One of the Mayor’s appointments and one of the Council’s appointments must not be affiliated with the same political party as the Mayor.
