Sue is deeply committed to her profession and her community. She was elected to the Carmel City Council in 2012 where she has served as president (2017), vice president (2016) and finance chair for several years. Carmel was named in 2012 and 2017 as the Best Place to Live in America.

Sue has held leadership positions in such organizations as Leadership Indianapolis, the Hamilton County Economic Development Corporation, City of Carmel Economic Development Commission, the Carmel-Clay Kiwanis Club and that Association of Organ Procurement Organizations. She also co-founded the community music festival called Carmel Porchfest, and co-launched

Sue boasts a diverse professional background that includes more than 20 years of marketing, business management and human resources leadership. She has a Masters in management from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelors in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University. She is also board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.

Sue is currently the director of external engagement at Indiana Donor Network, where she has worked since 2014. Indiana Donor Network is a 200-person 501(c)3 nonprofit responsible for facilitating organ, tissue and cornea donation throughout Indiana. Sue successfully led Indiana Donor Network through a complete rebranding in 2015 while overseeing hospital, coroner, funeral director, volunteer, community, marketing, media and government relationships with a team of 25, and also oversees events for the Indiana Donor Network Foundation.

Sue is the key strategist behind Indiana Donor Network’s award-winning Driven2SaveLives campaign, which has brought the donation message to tens of millions of people throughout the nation. Sue is widely recognized as a thought leader in the donation and transplantation field and actively contributes to solutions to complex national issues in the industry.

Sue has been recognized for her leadership abilities many times, including as a finalist for Indy’s Best and Brightest.

She is most proud, however, of her family. Her husband Joe is a mechanical engineer that owns and operates an energy solutions manufacturing facility, and Drew, their son, is a senior and Carmel High School, and a three-year starter on the soccer team. They reside together with their dogs Aubrey and Stetson in in northeast Carmel.
